CONSTABLE JIMMY L. CHRISTIAN

Intelligence Unit | August 20, 2014

In Honor of Constable Jimmy L. Christian

September 30, 1971 – November 18, 2007

Constable Jimmy Lynn Christian, age 36 of Dunlap, TN passed away at his home on Sunday November 18, 2007, after a 10 year battle with Hodgkin’s Disease.

Jimmy was a 1989 graduate of Sequatchie County High School and then went on to serve in the United States Air Force for 11 years. He was medically retired from the Air Force as a staff Sergeant. He married his wife Amy Malone Christian in 2003.

He became a reserve officer with the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department in 2004 when he began volunteering as a K-9 officer. He worked many long hours training search dogs and assisting the Sheriff’s Office in tracking and catching fleeing criminals. Jimmy and Amy raised AKC registered bloodhounds for three years and provided other Sequatchie County Volunteers with blood hounds.

In 2006 Jimmy was elected as Constable for the first civil district of Sequatchie County. As a Constable he worked hand in hand with the Sheriff’s Office providing law enforcement services to the first district and the entire county. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #78.

Jimmy was many different things to different people. He was a loving husband to his wife, a wonderful brother to his sister… and an inspiration to all of us who were privileged to work side by side with him.

For those of us who wear a badge, to loose a fellow officer anywhere in the country is a monumental loss. To loose a fellow officer right here at home is to experience the loss of a brother. We will miss you Jimmy. Rest easy, you’re finally home.
